Welcome to Felon Aid

This is an important topic to discuss for those who have served prison time and are hoping to contribute to society in a positive way after being released. I first got the idea for this site when I was incarcerated at Eglin FPC in 2003. The original plan was to create a destination with resources to help those reentering society after being released from prison.

Additionally, I had intended to provide links and self help for our family and friends that we leave behind.
As horrendous as it is to be locked up, it must be just as difficult on our loved ones who have to wait for our return.

In addition to helping people after the mistakes have been made, my goal has shifted direction and I find that the more important objective should be to prevent the mistakes that lead people into the system.

My Story

After being released, I made all these plans, I put together links, researched resources, wrote articles and had everything laid out when I changed my mind. I was embarrassed about being arrested, convicted and going to prison. I was forced to relocate to a new area of the country and I did not want everyone to know I was a convicted felon. I was still trying to reconcile what had transpired; the loss of freedom, starting over somewhere new, a pariah with all my old acquaintances and most importantly, the impact my actions and prison time had on my children and family. o at first I made the worst decision I could have, I buried my head in the sand.
